Kimchi on the Way to the River
Sunday, November 2nd, 2008 |We were walking to the river Saturday evening, and, to our great and happy surprise, we happened across some good folk making Kimchi.
Kimchi is the national dish of Korea. If it isn’t, I think most Koreans would tell you that it should be. I’ve heard many times, “You can’t have a meal without rice and Kimchi.”
As we were passing, I decided that this would be great for our blog, so I wanted to take some photos. Papa suggested that we ask. After having done so, they said, “Sure,” and were happy to have someone taking an interest in their craft. There were smiles all around.

Saturday, November 1st, 2008 |Last week I went to school with my husband, Dee. I was to observe in his class and some of other teachers’ classes. When the students started to get use to me, they began to call me “Mrs.Morgan Teacher”. That was very cute! I loved it!
We went to Halloween party at “American City” on Monday. The students were costumes and there were no classes for kindergarten, but Dee had to teach about three classes for elementary.
The school had a field trip to go to dig potatoes on Thursday, but I have to try to teach in the afternoon; it was the story class. It was about “The Boston Tea Party”. I had one night to prepare the lesson plan. I was very excited and nervous. Thursday morning, I was still nervous and I decided that I would not go on the field trip.
Dee was taking a shower and getting ready to go to dig potatoes with his students, but he changed his mind after he saw that I was still nervous. He stayed at home to help me prepare my lesson plan.
I was worried a lot about my accent. I have problem with “H” and “Th” that made me cry!!
I had to prepare three pages to teach in the afternoon. When I was teaching, my boss (Sydney) and Hanna Teacher were in the class too. That made me more nervous!!. After I taught the first page, Sydney showed me one page and then turned the class over to me again. Sydney told me that it couldn’t perfect the first time. Yes, I agree, but I don’t feel like I failed. The only one thing I can do is try, try and try.
I found out my time table on Thursday and the material on Friday. I’m going to start teaching this Monday.
I’m going to teach fifteen hours a week, and when I feel much more comfortable with teaching, I can teach up to 30 hours a week.
